'I thought they were going to kill me, I was petrified' - transport workers tell of knife attacks and verbal abuse

Adrian Kane of Siptu noted, "A similar amount is already being spent on private security firms to police the network," indicating the need for an official transport police to improve safety.

Luas ticket inspector Kabir Alade described a violent attack, saying, "I was vigorously attacked by them and I got cut on my hand with a Stanley knife," which illustrates the severe risks transport workers endure.
