Hurricane Oscar has led to at least six confirmed deaths in Cuba, with severe damage especially reported in the Guantanamo province as it swept across the island.
Following the hurricane, Cuba's largest power plant collapsed, resulting in a total blackout that left 10 million people in darkness and sparked small protests.
Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel warned that any unrest related to the power outage would be punished, indicating the government's strict stance on civil disorder.
As of Monday afternoon, electricity was restored to most areas in Havana, yet many regions outside the capital continued to suffer from prolonged outages.
