Hurricane Milton: At least nine dead as major clean-up begins and 2m still without power

As Florida residents navigated through their flooded streets and assessed their homes on Friday, they counted their blessings that Hurricane Milton was not as catastrophic as initially anticipated.

Despite the extensive damage and the tragic loss of nine lives, many locals expressed a sense of relief over the hurricane sparing densely populated regions, especially Tampa, from a direct hit.
