Hundreds of workers at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas have gone on strike for a fair contract after long negotiations, marking a significant labor action for the Culinary Workers Union.
The union's Secretary-Treasurer, Ted Pappageorge, emphasized that the company's proposal, which worked out to an estimated $0.30 per year, was "miles apart and is an insult to every worker."
Workers, including housekeepers and servers, are standing firm for a first-class contract with fair wage increases, demonstrating their readiness to strike for better conditions.
