Frederick Afrifa, a 29-year-old supermarket delivery driver turned entrepreneur, shares how his dissatisfaction with his job catalyzed his journey toward self-improvement and entrepreneurship. After moving from Milan to London at the age of 12, Afrifa struggled with communication and confidence, initially facing ridicule for his language skills. Through public speaking engagements with local schools, he gradually built his confidence and now co-founded a successful communication coaching business, Believe in Greatness. He aims to leverage his background as an athlete and speaker in his pursuit of success on The Apprentice.
I remember there was a shift in particular where it was snowing and I had to handle this van in the snow and I almost crashed. I just sat there thinking 'mate you've got to get out of here'.
I was a very shy and introverted teenager... I didn't speak any English, I was in south London, I would pronounce words incorrectly and people would laugh.
We've helped people get promotions, we've helped people get businesses... I know we've had some life changing work in our business.
As an athlete I had to perform at my best under pressure, as a speaker I had to do my best under pressure.
