The Home Office has removed a link from its website that mistakenly directed users to a Japanese pornography site instead of a legitimate advisory board.
A spokeswoman for the Home Office confirmed that the erroneous link stemmed from the original site becoming defunct and acquiring new ownership.
Mike Riley discovered the inappropriate link while researching new internet regulations and alerted the BBC about the incident.
In response to the mistake, the Home Office has initiated an investigation to address how the link was published on their site.
