Graham Norton says parents were "robbed" of seeing their gay kids marry before legalization - Queerty
Briefly

"I grew up in West Cork and now here I am and my mother's there. No matter how accepting parents are and how much they love you... they are being robbed. As parents they had an expectation that they one day might dance at your wedding. Obviously, it's great for us, we get to get married. But it's great for all the people who love you, that they get to share in that stuff that for decades they believed could never happen."
"There will be many gay couples whose parents were never able to see them wed because they died before same-sex marriage became legal. The majority of the world's population still does not have access to same-sex marriage. It's an inequality not only for the LGBTQ+ individuals concerned but also for loved ones who want to see them tie the knot."
