NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell addressed accusations of bias against the Kansas City Chiefs during his state of the league speech, calling the notion 'ridiculous.' He defended officials' integrity and highlighted their thorough evaluation processes. Goodell noted that the Chiefs' close-range games exemplified the league's competitiveness and emphasized the need for improved officiating through technology, hinting at proposed expansions of replay assist. Other key issues, including ongoing investigations into player misconduct, were also discussed, showcasing the league's commitment to address serious allegations and maintain its standards.
This sort of reminds me a little bit of the script, that I write a script, and I have the script for the entire season... Our officials are evaluated in several ways.
I think that talks about the competitiveness of our game and the importance of how we officiate it, but also the competitiveness of how we play it.
We want to use technology to supplement and to assist and support the officials in getting it right.
I was surprised, but also, you know, there's a process for that, as you say, both civil and potentially criminal.
