Forest Hills Stadium's Concert Season Might Be Suspended In 2025
Briefly

A new motion for a preliminary injunction has been filed against West Side Tennis Club (WSTC), which owns the stadium and leases the venue to concert operators, via the Forest Hills Garden Corp (FHGC), a homeowners association whose members live by the venue. This motion seeks to prohibit the WSTC from licensing or authorizing concerts, arguing that the concerts cause "severe and irreparable harm to the community."
Complaints regarding the stadium's concerts included excessive noise pollution, littering, impaired resident access to their homes, trespassing, and illegal sales of nitrous oxide cartridges outside the venue. The FHGC wants to stop concerts during the school year or on weeknights, as well as concerts that exceed noise levels set by the city's Noise Code.
Anthony Oprisiu, president of the FHGC Board of Directors, emphasized the need for action, stating that the noise from concerts sends vibrations through residents' houses for hours at a time, which contributes to a degraded quality of life for the community.
