A fire at a ski resort hotel in Turkey has claimed at least 10 lives and left 32 injured. The blaze ignited in the hotel's restaurant in Kartalkaya during peak holiday season, overwhelming guests and staff. Initial reports suggest that the wooden cladding on the hotel may have contributed to the rapid spread of the flames. Emergency services responded with 30 fire trucks and 28 ambulances, and many guests attempted to escape the inferno using sheets. As a safety measure, nearby hotels were also evacuated to ensure the safety of other visitors.

The hotel had 234 guests staying at the time, with some desperately trying to escape by climbing down sheets from their rooms.
