Firefighters in Spencer battled a large fire on Sunday, dealing with freezing temperatures while addressing exploding propane tanks and fireworks, which heightened the danger.
Spencer Fire and Emergency Services noted on Facebook that, 'Despite the very frigid conditions firefighters from several communities tried their best to save the two exposures.'
Paul Shea, a freelance photographer, reported witnessing fireworks exploding amid the flames, illustrating the chaotic scene faced by emergency responders during the fire.
Due to the absence of accessible fire hydrants, crews relied on portable pumps to source water from Thompson Pond to combat the flames.
