The rapid fall of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has dealt a serious blow to Iran's 'axis of resistance,' a central pillar of Tehran's foreign policy.
'Without Syria, we could see the entire axis of resistance just unravel,' said a Western diplomat who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
'Iranians can be happy,' a former member of parliament noted, indicating skepticism about funding a regime that collapsed rapidly.
'The resistance front has had a really hard year,' Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi admitted, referencing regional setbacks despite some continued resilience.
