Tayquon Young, a 34-year-old from the Bronx, suffered a severe attack when a man, angered over a harmless encounter between their dogs, wielded a machete and threatened to decapitate Young's dog, Chanel. Despite his efforts to protect his pet, he had four fingers amputated in the violent confrontation. His aunt, Tashemia Young, expressed fear for their safety and criticized bystanders and the police for their inadequate response to the alarming situation. Authorities are currently searching for the suspect, who remains at large, prompting concerns for community safety.
"Get this guy! I'm walking the dog with my husband. My husband's walking him, too. What if the guy sees us and decides to be angry and finished decapitating [Chanel] or turns on us?"
"The other dog's owner took offense and pulled a machete, threatening to cut off Chanel's head. When Tayquon tried to grab the blade to protect his pup, four of his fingers were severed and fell to the sidewalk."
