Sir Richard Dearlove expressed deep concern regarding the Labour government’s approach to national security, stating that they are failing to address urgent threats facing the UK.
He highlighted that the government is not showing the required urgency in the face of an international crisis, asserting, "We've just seen them cut various military equipment to make a saving. Okay, they're saying it's outdated, but you don’t do that when you are threatened by probably the worst security situation in Europe."
Dearlove criticized the Home Secretary Yvette Cooper as "clueless" regarding her stance on the arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying, "She just blahed her way through the interview without really saying anything. I mean, it shows that they're in a very tough position, but they need to take a clear stand on this."
