Dublin stabbing victim named locally as gardai investigate feud link to attack

Joseph McEvoy, a 34-year-old father, was fatally stabbed in Clondalkin amid a violent local feud that has seen over 50 incidents in the past year. A suspect in his 40s has been arrested in connection to the murder. Similar violent incidents preceding McEvoy's death included arson and a petrol bomb attack. Though McEvoy knew those involved in the feuding, he was not suspected of participating in such violence. Quarryvale Football Club expressed their devastation over the loss of their club captain, describing him as kind-hearted and beloved.
Gardaí believe Mr. McEvoy's murder is linked to a violent local feud which has seen over 50 incidents reported in the past year.
Detectives are also investigating a spate of attacks in the lead-up to his death, including an arson on a car and a petrol bomb attack on a house.
One source said: "At this stage all these reported incidents appear to be connected and are linked to a local feud in the area."
Quarryvale Football Club today paid tribute to Mr. McEvoy, saying it is "devastated" by the loss of their club captain.
