The Double Header house creatively responds to zoning regulations by featuring two mirrored volumes connected by a functional spine, allowing accommodating space for three generations.
Comprising a small apartment-like suite for grandparents and a larger suite for their adult children and grandchildren, the design nurtures family interdependence while fostering independence.
The hourglass-shaped plan caters to two distinct outdoor preferences: sunny mornings for grandparents in an east-facing courtyard, and sunset spaces for the younger family in a west-facing courtyard.
Unique landscaping enhances each suite's privacy and experience, allowing both generations to enjoy their respective outdoor areas without compromising their living spaces.
