Director and composer Claire van Kampen dies aged 71

Van Kampen was a concert pianist, playwright, theatre director and worked in various roles at Shakespeare's Globe for around 20 years, influencing many artists alongside her husband, Mark Rylance.
Her family described her as one of the funniest and most inspiring women we have ever known, thanking her for imbuing their lives with her magic, music, laughter, and love.
Trained at the Royal College of Music, Van Kampen specialised in 20th century music and went on to compose for theatre, television, and film, showcasing her versatile talent.
She created original scores for successful Broadway productions like 2000's True West and 2008's Boeing-Boeing, leaving a lasting impact on the performing arts.
