Dexter: Original Sin Recap: What Evil Lurks
Briefly

Despite ongoing issues with 'Dexter: Original Sin', such as tonal inconsistencies and weak writing, the episode 'Business and Pleasure' stands out as a strong entry, effectively advancing the plot with a balance of action and character insights. The narrative reflects the flaws seen in later seasons of Dexter rather than the original beloved early seasons. Harry’s character struggles with parenting his daughter Deb, and his conflicted relationship with others like Gi0 and LaGuerta becomes evident, illustrating deeper character dynamics within a flawed storyline.
This far into the first season of Dexter: Original Sin, I'm discovering there may be a ceiling to my enjoyment of this show.
All that being said, I have to acknowledge 'Business and Pleasure' as the strongest episode so far, propelling the plot forward with bursts of action alongside meaningful character moments.
It may be time to accept that this show has much more in common with the deeply flawed later seasons of Dexter than the first four.
On the drive to Tampa, Harry and LaGuerta have a nice bonding moment as he reveals how much he's struggling to parent Deb.
