One resident told the committee the homes would lead to more cars and fewer parking spaces, calculating that 115 cars would be battling for 70 parking spaces. She acknowledged the borough needed more housing but argued the modern design wouldn't add value to the historic terrace.
Mark Sherman, a representative for the developer Firstplan, argued that Redbridge Council is currently behind on housing delivery targets and this scheme would create five high-quality new homes, addressing the issue of a derelict site and antisocial behaviour.
