Today is more a day of reckoning and a day of recognition of exactly what this fire did. Hundreds of homes have been destroyed in the Pacific Palisades, and the human toll is significant.
When you look at the pictures of some of the neighborhoods here, it does remind me of some of those pictures from World War II and English cities during the Blitz, completely and utterly flattened.
