Skylar Dalziel, 22, was sentenced to a suspended 21-month prison term for illegally accessing cloud storage to steal and sell unreleased music from major artists.
The thefts came to light when Sony Music Entertainment discovered a compromised cloud account belonging to Upsahl and reported it to the IFPI.
Richard Partridge stated that Dalziel showed complete disregard for musicians' creativity and the potential loss of earnings from her illegal activities.
DC Daryl Fryatt emphasized that stealing music not only affects the artists but also the employees of the record companies involved.
