Creighton men's basketball guard Pop Isaacs will undergo hip surgery and miss the rest of the season, coach Greg McDermott confirmed on Saturday. Isaacs had been dealing with hip issues since surgery last spring, and this setback means the Bluejays will be without one of their most impactful players for the remainder of the year. Having scored at least 25 points in three of his past five games, Isaacs's absence will be keenly felt on the court.
Isaacs, a 6-foot-2 guard from Las Vegas, had been averaging 16.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.9 assists through eight games at Creighton. His transition from Texas Tech, where he previously earned All-Big 12 honors, had shown positive results as he played some of the best basketball of his career. His performance included a standout game of 27 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists against No. 1 Kansas, highlighting his pivotal role on the team.
