Contemptible Racism': House Republican Under Fire for Asking if DEI Was a Factor in D.C. Plane Crash
Briefly

U.S. Rep. Andy Ogles has faced backlash after suggesting that diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives could be partially responsible for a tragic helicopter and plane crash in Washington, D.C. The crash, involving a Black Hawk helicopter and an American Airlines passenger plane, resulted in 67 feared dead. During an appearance on Fox News, Ogles emphasized the importance of examining all potential factors, including human error and equipment failure, while his remarks were widely criticized online as an attempt to politicize an ongoing tragedy, prompting strong reactions from various commentators.

The mention of DEI was met with harsh criticism online. Absolutely disgusting, Congressman. @AndyOgles, you should be ashamed that you'd use this moment & your position of power, not to share facts about this tragedy...

It's been a number of years since we've had an aircraft collision such as this; and so, again, prayers for all those impacted.
