Consultation opens on Bakerloo line replacement bus service - the Bakerloop
Briefly

Due to the long delay in the Bakerloo line extension, a new express bus route, known as the Bakerloop, is proposed to run between Waterloo and Lewisham. This service is aimed at improving transport for residents, particularly in deprived areas, and will serve key interchanges along the extension route. It promises to be a quicker and cheaper alternative to a potential tram service. Differentiated by a brown color scheme, the Bakerloop will clearly differentiate itself from existing bus services, making it a temporary yet effective transit solution until the tube line is completed. Community consultation has started.
The proposed Bakerloop bus service aims to provide an express link along the planned Bakerloo line extension route while waiting for its eventual completion.
Half of the residents along the Bakerloo line extension are in deprived areas, highlighting the importance of improved transport even without the tube.
Unlike existing services, the Bakerloop will use a brown color scheme associated with the Bakerloo line for easy identification as an alternative service.
A public consultation for the proposed Bakerloop bus service has commenced to gather community feedback on this interim transportation solution.
