Cocaine-dealing GAA receptionist released from prison three weeks into two-year sentence

Edel Lawlor, a GAA receptionist, was sentenced to two years in prison after €70,000 of cocaine was discovered in her home. She was released three weeks into her sentence. Gardaí carried out a period of surveillance prior to her arrest. Undercover gardaí hid in a caravan parked near her home to conduct the surveillance. The caravan was draped in Mayo flags. The surveillance operation culminated in Lawlor’s arrest and her subsequent custody following the undercover operation.
