The patchy rain and drizzle will slowly spread eastwards across the country today, with eastern areas staying dry until after dark and highest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees.
Mist and fog will form overnight, dropping temperatures to between 2 to 7 degrees, with a mostly dry but cloudy day expected tomorrow and just a few patches of light rain.
Tuesday night will mark the first time temperatures drop below freezing since the Arctic blast, reaching between -2 to +3 degrees.
Friday and the weekend are expected to be very unsettled with strong winds and the potential for heavy rainfall, highlighting a shift in weather patterns.
