A 25-year-old man named Imran Chowdury has been charged with aiding Daniel Khalife following his escape from prison, making headlines in September 2023.
Chowdury allegedly assisted Khalife, who escaped HMP Wandsworth by hiding under a food delivery truck, a method that has raised serious security concerns.
After his arrest in January 2024, Chowdury was officially charged in December 2024; he will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court for the allegations.
Despite the tangled web of arrests, a 25-year-old woman detained for assisting an offender in February 2024 will not face any charges.
