Chad: Military says it foiled attack on presidential palace DW 01/09/2025
Briefly

On Wednesday evening, a group of two dozen armed men attacked the presidential palace in Chad, resulting in the deaths of two soldiers and 18 assailants.
State prosecutor Oumar Kedelaye reported that the assailants were armed with weapons, machetes, and knives, and had attempted to deceive guards by feigning a vehicle breakdown.
Chad's Infrastructure Minister assured the public that "nothing serious, no panic, the situation is under control," following the attempted attack.
Despite the chaos, government spokesperson Abderaman Koulamallah downplayed the incident, describing it as a "little incident" and asserting that the attempt to destabilize has failed.
