The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, established during the Harlem Renaissance, is marking its 100th anniversary with a series of celebrations. Activities will include an exhibition titled "100: A Century of Collections, Community, and Creativity," set to open on May 8, along with a Centennial Festival on June 14. Additional programs will feature intimate conversations with iconic figures discussing their cultural impact and a tasting event inspired by historical recipes. The center houses invaluable items chronicling Black history, showcasing its significant contribution to culture and education.
To commemorate its 100 years in existence, The Schomburg Center will host a year-long celebration, including new public programming, a Centennial Festival, and special events.
