Brandon Simosa, a 25-year-old homeless man, was arrested for allegedly following a woman into a building and robbing her in Hell's Kitchen, culminating in a lewd act.
Police quickly recognized Simosa from surveillance photos, which led to his arrest just days after the crime. This incident has raised concerns about safety in Midtown.
Authorities noted that Simosa had eight prior arrests this year. The robbery included theft of the victim's cellphone and debit cards, as well as a disturbing sexual act.
