State police have destroyed an unprecedented number of marijuana plants in New Mexico, marking the largest cannabis seizure since the state's new laws took effect in 2021.
New Mexico State Police Chief Troy Weisler emphasized a blatant disregard for state laws by NNK Equity, stating that evidence would prove this after the investigation concludes.
Jacob Candelaria, attorney for NNK Equity, argued that regulators violated his clients' civil rights, claiming improper notice and lack of language assistance regarding their licensing issues.
Despite attorney Candelaria's claims, the Cannabis Control Division insisted that all due process measures were followed and that the company had been notified properly of its license issues.
