Bryan Goldberg's BDG Is Being Sued for Nearly $3 Million in Back Rent
Briefly

Bryan Goldberg's Bustle Digital Group faces a lawsuit from Columbia Property Trust for nearly $3 million for abandoning their lease at 315 Park Avenue South. The claim alleges that the company ceased rent payments in October 2023, shortly before exiting the office space in December. Goldberg, who has a history of founding and acquiring media companies, reportedly owed $2.3 million in back rent, with additional late fees raising the total liability to $2.7 million. A former staffer remarked on inadequate working conditions at the office, echoing challenges beyond financial issues.
Goldberg, who founded Bustle and the Bleacher Report and later acquired and subsequently shut down both Gawker and the Outline, had reportedly been paying $3.1 million a year to rent the tenth and 11th floors of the boutique office building near the Flatiron.
Columbia Property Trust's lawsuit claims the company also owes late fees and other expenses, bringing the total sum to $2.7 million.
