Brightspeed Accelerates Network Build With $238M In Grants
Briefly

Brightspeed has received $238 million in grants, expanding fiber access by 121,000 addresses across 14 states, enhancing its commitment to broadband connectivity.
"When we launched the company in 2022, we made a multi-billion-dollar commitment to reach more than four million homes and businesses in our footprint. We are on pace to achieve our initial goal, and every grant award allows us to go even further," Brightspeed CEO Tom Maguire expressed, emphasizing the importance of ongoing funding.
Maguire mentioned that broadband grant programs and the BEAD program have created a unique opportunity to reach deeper into more remote areas where building would otherwise be unaffordable.
Brightspeed plans to continue pursuing state and federal grants as part of its strategy for expanding broadband access, with recent funding allowing it to expand to more locations.
