Brenton Wood, the beloved soul singer best known for his 1967 hit 'The Oogum Boogum Song,' has passed away at the age of 83.
His manager revealed that Wood, born Alfred Jesse Smith, died in his Moreno Valley home, surrounded by friends and family, early Friday morning.
Wood was also famous for other hits including 'Gimme Little Sign' and 'Baby You Got It,' contributing significantly to the soul music genre.
