"I had never been to Texas before this year, and I ended up in Houston twice. Unfortunately, I didn't make it to Minute Maid Park either time. One trip was before the season, and the other was during the season by meetings ran long, making going to that part of the city difficult. Chances are that I'll be down there next year or the year after, and I'll make more of an effort to get to that park."
"But I did make special trips for food. Living in the Midwest, BBQ is not ... a thing you can find in high quality, but you can in Houston. More traditional Mexican food was on the list as well, and there are definitely some good spots to go to eat. They certainly gave me some ideas for my own coming and grilling."
Two visits to Houston occurred, with Minute Maid Park missed both times due to timing and long meetings. One visit happened before the baseball season; the other during the season had meetings that ran long, making travel to that part of the city difficult. Special trips focused on food, particularly high-quality BBQ and traditional Mexican offerings. Living in the Midwest limited access to comparable BBQ, while Houston delivered better options and inspired ideas for future grilling. The city's overall attractions resembled those of Atlanta, but dining experiences were consistently very good across visited locations.
