A short time later, three men wearing masks showed up and began arguing with the trio. At least one of the suspects pulled a gun and opened fire, striking Johary in the head."
"His panicked friend threw the car in gear and drove Johary to Maimonides Medical Center, but he couldn't be saved. Johary lived in Sunset Park, about seven blocks from where he was shot, cops said. It was not immediately clear if Johary was the intended target or if the gunman were aiming at his friend or the teen on the scooter."

A teen on a scooter whom they knew approached the vehicle and began talking to them. Three masked men subsequently arrived and engaged in an argument with the trio. At least one suspect fired a gun, striking Johary in the head. His friend drove him to Maimonides Medical Center, but he died from his injuries. Three suspects fled the scene. It remains unclear whether Johary was the intended target. This incident was the second teen shooting in Brooklyn within four hours; a 15-year-old was shot in the shoulder in Bensonhurst earlier that evening. No arrests have been made in either case.
