Bookshop.org is now selling ebooks
Briefly

Bookshop.org has expanded its offerings to include ebooks, enabling independent bookstores to earn revenue from digital sales. This move allows shoppers to select their local bookstore at checkout, directing part of the purchase price to the designated store. Since its launch in 2020, Bookshop.org has significantly supported booksellers, contributing over $35 million. The platform will feature over three million ebooks from major publishers, maintaining competitive prices in line with other retailers. Accompanying this launch is a new mobile app for curated book exploration, with purchases needing to be completed through the website.
It’s not a good business strategy to say, 'Come to us for your books, but when you need an ebook, go to Amazon.'
