Body recovered in Turks and Caicos amid search for NYC man on trip with wife

Brian Tarrence, a New Yorker, was reported missing on June 25 while on vacation in Turks and Caicos. Local police found a decomposed body in the vicinity of Grace Bay, but authorities have yet to confirm the identity. Authorities stated that Tarrence was last seen leaving his rental property in the early hours of June 25, wearing a T-shirt and shorts, and was known to have his phone and wallet. A missing persons poster was released by the state department to encourage leads in the investigation.
Local police discovered the body around 9:05 a.m. while conducting a search operation for Brian Tarrence, a New Yorker reported missing since June 25.
Tarrence had been on vacation in the tropical destination with his wife up until June 25, when the 51-year-old was last seen.
According to island police and a private investigator hired by the family, Tarrence was last seen on surveillance video leaving his rental property at around 3:40 a.m.
The Royal Turks and Caicos Island Police Force extends sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
