Black box' from helicopter involved in Washington plane crash recovered
Briefly

The NTSB successfully recovered the flight black box from the Black Hawk helicopter involved in a deadly midair crash with a commercial airliner near Washington DC. NTSB member Todd Inman reported that the black box, containing key flight data and cockpit audio, was in good condition. However, the NTSB will not disclose information immediately as investigations progress. The crash resulted in the deaths of over 67 people, including all passengers aboard both aircraft. Investigators are examining air traffic control procedures and eyewitness accounts to determine the cause of the disaster.
The black box containing a flight data and cockpit voice recorder was in good condition despite its accident with an American Airlines jet in Washington DC.
Investigators have a very high level of confidence that they will get information from the cockpit voice recorder, which has water intrusion.
