Oxfam reported that trillionaires are expected to emerge in the next decade, as the richest 1% control 45% of global wealth, with 44% living on less than $6.85 daily.
Amitabh Behar stated that ordinary people worldwide are crushed by the enormous wealth of a tiny few, as billionaires reshape economic and social policies for further profits.
The report highlighted that the wealth of the richest 10 billionaires has increased by $100 million daily over the past decade, with 204 new billionaires in 2024.
According to Oxfam, one in ten women lives in extreme poverty, earning under $2.15 daily, while unpaid labor by women contributes an estimated $10.8 trillion to the economy.
