A big-rig truck jackknifed on the Bay Bridge early Thursday morning, blocking four lanes for over four hours, leading to significant traffic disruption.
The crash occurred around 5:10 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 80, near the First Street on-ramp, with no other vehicles involved and the driver sustaining minor injuries.
Authorities issued a Sigalert shortly after the incident to alert commuters of massive delays and recommended alternative routes as cleanup was underway.
The truck was finally removed from the bridge just after 8:24 a.m., reopening one lane while cleanup continued, and all lanes were cleared by 9:22 a.m.
