The project merges a single-family house with an architecture studio, utilizing two facades of a partially ruined building in Barcelos to achieve a multifunctional use.
The design emphasizes traditional construction methods, incorporating wooden beams and ornamental stonework with contemporary elements, creating a dialogue between history and modernity.
By setting back the new floor, outdoor balconies are created while distinguishing the new construction from the old, minimizing the visual impact on the streetscape.
The interior design focuses on open-plan spaces and light-permeable materials, allowing a harmonious blend of light and experience across different living areas.
