The death toll after a bridge linking two states in northern Brazil collapsed has risen to nine, with eight people still unaccounted for following the tragedy.
Several vehicles, including four trucks and two cars, fell into the Tocantins River as a section of the Juscelino Kubitschek de Oliveira Bridge crumbled.
The bridge, built in the 1960s, measures 533 metres and connects the cities of Estreito and Aguiarnopolis in northern Brazil.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collapse, which occurred on December 24, with one body recovered six kilometres downstream.
