At least 89 people remain missing after deadly floods in eastern Spain, with 217 confirmed dead, as the prime minister allocates €10.6 billion to assist victims.
Heavy rains last week caused waterways to overflow, resulting in flash floods that devastated suburbs around Valencia, sweeping away cars and flooding properties.
The Valencia regional court emphasized that the current count of missing only includes those reported by families, indicating more could still be unregistered.
To aid in the search for the missing and identification of bodies, DNA samples are being requested from relatives, while a specialized research vessel will assist efforts.
