The settlement requires approval from U.S. District Judge Jeffrey White, and has been proposed following allegations that Siri recorded private conversations unintentionally.
Plaintiffs claimed that after unintentional activation of Siri, private discussions were recorded, leading to targeted advertisements from third parties.
Class members, which number in the tens of millions, could potentially receive up to $20 per Siri-enabled device for the alleged privacy violations.
Though Apple agreed to settle and pay $95 million, it maintains that it has done no wrong regarding the handling of users' privacy.
