Pixelmator announced it will now 'have the ability to reach an even wider audience and make an even bigger impact on the lives of creative people around the world.'
Despite the acquisition, Pixelmator promises 'there will be no material changes' to its apps, including Pixelmator Pro for macOS and Pixelmator for iOS.
Historically, while some of Apple's acquired software has been integrated into first-party apps, others like Final Cut and Logic Pro remain available years later.
Pixelmator Pro, available for a one-time payment of $49.99, is considered a cost-effective alternative to Adobe Photoshop, offering robust editing features.
