In 2022, AG Recruitment brought over 1,450 Indonesians to the UK for agricultural work, only to be implicated in exploitation and unlicensed fees.
The GLAA has revoked AG Recruitment's license, stating it failed to act in a fit and proper manner despite AG's claims of innocence and lack of wrongdoing.
Douglas Amesz, AG's managing director, admitted that workers had paid fees to unscrupulous third parties but denied any wrongdoing in the recruitment process.
Amesz described the corruption in countries they recruit from, particularly Indonesia, highlighting the difficulties in controlling exploitation by third parties.
