'A terrible tragedy' - School pays tribute to girl (8) who died in fatal assault in New Ross house

New Ross Educate Together principal Therese White expressed deep sadness over the death of the student, highlighting it as a 'terrible tragedy for the family, our school, and our community.' She stated the school is supporting students through this time.
The school has activated its Critical Incident Management Plan, receiving support from the National Educational Psychological Service, to aid teachers in helping students cope with the tragic events.
Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the girl's death, with a preserved scene for forensic examination, and a post-mortem examination scheduled to assist in the investigation.
