In splendid isolation, 2024 was a very good year for Irish rugby. The senior men's international team retained their Six Nations, won a Test in South Africa and claimed three out of four in a difficult November. Meanwhile, the women stunned the world by beating New Zealand to finish second in the WXV1 after a resurgent Six Nations.
Despite the successes of 2024 for the Irish rugby teams, the absence of head coach Andy Farrell raises questions for the future, introducing an element of uncertainty.
