Reflecting on my time at Stamford Bridge, match-day security allowed me to experience the behind-the-scenes atmosphere of Chelsea games, which became an invaluable influence on my songwriting process. Listening to the players and soaking in the environment was part of the reason I was so focused on becoming a songwriter.
I was completely dedicated to songwriting, believing that to create good music, I needed to immerse myself in it. I spent countless hours playing just three chords, hoping inspiration would strike in the form of a great song.
The moment a phone call interrupted my creative flow could have changed everything. It symbolized how close I was to finishing an important piece, which reflects the unpredictable nature of creativity.
Working alongside friends like DJ Mairead Nash from Queens of Noize, our shared stories and experiences often triggered new ideas for songs. Collaborating and discussing creativity was vital to my songwriting journey.
